Turret

The turret, mounted on the deck, can be aimed to port, starboard, straight ahead for maximum firefighting versatility. The turret, which was assembled from a corner brace and a couple of hose clamps, is actuated by a servo. Its red nozzles, which are used to increase the velocity, and therefore the range, of the stream are made from wire connectors. Our original pan for the hydraulic system called for a valve to the turret. Due to the height of the turret above the thrusters, the water completely flows through the thrusters, unless the thruster valves have been closed, in which case most of the water is routed to the turret.
